macOS App · Apple Silicon Native
Pinterest Downloader for Mac
Bulk download images, GIFs, and videos from any Pinterest board on your Mac. PinBoard is a free native macOS app built for Apple Silicon. No browser extensions, no online converters.
Why use PinBoard on Mac?
If you've ever tried to save images from a Pinterest board on your Mac, you know the pain. Pinterest doesn't offer any bulk download feature - you're stuck right-clicking and saving one image at a time. Browser extensions are unreliable and often get blocked by Pinterest's updates. And online "Pinterest downloader" websites are ad-filled, slow, and can't handle videos.
PinBoard is a proper desktop app that runs natively on macOS. It's built specifically for Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4), so it's fast and efficient on modern MacBooks, iMacs, and Mac Minis. Paste a board URL, hit download, and every pin lands in a folder in Finder. Images at full resolution, GIFs preserved as GIFs, and videos automatically converted to MP4.
What PinBoard downloads
PinBoard scans a Pinterest board and categorizes everything it finds. You can download all content at once or pick specific files individually.
Images are saved at the highest resolution Pinterest has available (the original upload quality). GIFs are preserved as animated GIF files - not converted to static images like some tools do. Videos are automatically converted from Pinterest's HLS streaming format to standard MP4 files using a built-in copy of ffmpeg, the same tool used by professional video editors.
How to install PinBoard on macOS
Go to the releases page and download the .dmg file for macOS (arm64 / Apple Silicon).
Open the .dmg file and drag PinBoard to your Applications folder. You can then eject the disk image.
PinBoard isn't code-signed yet, so macOS Gatekeeper will block it the first time. When you see the warning, click Done (don't trash it). Then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway. You only need to do this once - after that, PinBoard opens normally.
Paste any Pinterest board URL, click Load Board, and download. That's it. PinBoard saves everything to a folder you can find right in Finder.
Using PinBoard on Mac
Once installed, PinBoard works the same way every time. Copy a Pinterest board URL from Safari or Chrome, paste it into PinBoard, and click Load Board. The app fetches every pin on the board and shows you a count of images, GIFs, and videos. Pick a category and hit download - files appear in a neat folder organized by board name.
For private or secret boards, click "Sign in to Pinterest" inside PinBoard. A real Pinterest login page opens in the app - sign in normally (2FA and captcha both work). Your credentials go directly to Pinterest, PinBoard never sees them. Once signed in, paste your private board URL and download as usual.
